Welcome to the center of fly fishing in Southern Chile. Located just steps from the shores of Llanquihue Lake, we have all the products necessary to fish and enjoy the Lakes District and Patagonia. With more than 36 years of operation in the area and 25 years as the sole Orvis representative in all of Chile, you can be sure to find all the high quality products that will help make your time on the water a great success. In 1986, in the center of Puerto Varas, Robeto Gray opened a small fly fishing shop called Gray Fly Fishing. At the start, his main activity was selling flies that he himself tied. After a while, the rumor spread that in the area there was great fishing to be found. Rio Pescado became the principal meeting place of all the major national and international fishermen. It was not uncommon to find at the rivers mouth more than 50 anglers all of whom delighted at the numerous and gigantic Rainbow trout and Coho salmon. This rise in popularity radically changed Roberto's business. The shop grew to represent various brands of fishing gear, Metz, Sangler, Thomas and Thoomas, Simms etc. Gray Fly Fishing became one of the premier shops in Chile, selling products from the United States. In November of 1991, another grandeous change occurred at this little store. Roberto received a visit from Mr. Leight Perkins, owner of Orvis. Mr. Perkins foresaw the great potential of the region as a market for his prestigious products and offered Roberto the chance to be the official Orvis dealer for Chile, an offer Roberto could not refuse! In June of 1997, Roberto and his wife Carmen traveled to Manchester Vermont as guests of Orvis to learn more about the company and visit the Orvis factories, offices, fly fishing school and famous fishing sites , like Batenkill river. Roberto and Carmen were regally cared for by Dave and Perk Perkins, sons of the owner and VP and CEO, respectively, of Orvis. And so in this way , Gray Fly Fishing has represented Orvis here in Chile for the past 25 years and is the southernmost Orvis Dealer in the world! Additionally, "Gray Fly Fishing" has a team of ten professional guides that lead day trips on all the different rivers of the area as well as special trips on the lakes. ( Drift Boat y Jet Boat). If you are thinking about coming to fish for multiple days, alone or with family, we work with various fishing lodges and hotels where you can fish but also enjoy other activities like , horseback riding , Trekking , rafting, etc. With our many years of experience in the area, you can be sure that you will receive the best service in Northern Patagonia. --- Bienvenido al centro de pesca con mosca del sur de Chile. Ubicados a pasos de las orillas del lago Llanquihue, contamos con todos los productos necesarios para pescar y disfrutar de la Región de los Lagos y la Patagonia. Con más de 36 años de operación en el área y 25 años como el único representante de Orvis en todo Chile, puede estar seguro de encontrar todos los productos de alta calidad que ayudarán a que su tiempo en el agua sea un gran éxito. En 1986, en el centro de Puerto Varas, Robeto Gray abrió una pequeña tienda de pesca con mosca llamada Gray Fly Fishing. Al principio, su actividad principal era la venta de moscas que él mismo ataba. Después de un tiempo, corrió el rumor de que en la zona había mucha pesca. Río Pescado se convirtió en el principal lugar de encuentro de todos los principales pescadores nacionales e internacionales. No era raro encontrar en la desembocadura de los ríos a más de 50 pescadores, todos los cuales se deleitaban con las numerosas y gigantescas truchas arcoíris y salmón coho. Este aumento de popularidad cambió radicalmente el negocio de Roberto. La tienda creció para representar varias marcas de artes de pesca, Metz, Sangler, Thomas y Thoomas, Simms, etc. Gray Fly Fishing se convirtió en una de las principales tiendas en Chile, vendiendo productos de los Estados Unidos. En noviembre de 1991, ocurrió otro gran cambio en esta pequeña tienda. Roberto recibió la visita del Sr. Leight Perkins, dueño de Orvis. El Sr. Perkins previó el gran potencial de la región como mercado para sus prestigiosos productos y le ofreció a Roberto la oportunidad de ser el distribuidor oficial de Orvis para Chile, ¡oferta que Roberto no pudo rechazar! En junio de 1997, Roberto y su esposa Carmen viajaron a Manchester Vermont como invitados de Orvis para aprender más sobre la compañía y visitar las fábricas, oficinas, escuela de pesca con mosca y sitios de pesca famosos de Orvis, como el río Batenkill. Roberto y Carmen fueron cuidados majestuosamente por Dave y Perk Perkins, hijos del propietario y VP y CEO, respectivamente, de Orvis. Y así, Gray Fly Fishing ha representado a Orvis aquí en Chile durante los últimos 25 años y es el distribuidor de Orvis más austral del mundo! Adicionalmente, "Gray Fly Fishing" cuenta con un equipo de diez guías profesionales que realizan recorridos de un día por los diferentes ríos de la zona así como recorridos especiales por los lagos. (Drift Boat y Jet Boat). Si está pensando en venir a pescar por varios días, solo o en familia, trabajamos con varios lodges de pesca y hoteles donde puede pescar pero también disfrutar de otras actividades como cabalgatas, trekking, rafting, etc. Con nuestros muchos años de experiencia en el área, puede estar seguro de que recibirá el mejor servicio en la Patagonia Norte.
